Equestrian Sports Science

Equestrian sports is one of Sweden biggest sports. New interdisciplinary research about horses and equestrian sports was started in 2012 at the University of Gothenburg in collaboration with Chalmers Sports & Technology. The World Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) has the goal of the horse being a “Happy Athlete”. The main purpose of the research in Gothenburg is to increase the welfare of the horse and a large number of projects are under way in collaboration with Swedish and international partners.

There are excellent opportunities for students to be part of the projects!
