Our research

At the Department of Physics we're about 50 researchers with activities ranging from everything from nanoscale magnets to studies of space.

Three strategic areas

Our research is divided in three major strategic areas: Atomic and molecular physics, Complex systems and biological physics and Condensed matter physics. Each of these areas are in divided into different subareas. Many of our researchers are involved in more than one of the areas.

Beside the research in our strategic areas we also conduct research in other areas.

Atomic and molecular physics

Atomic physics

The research done within group goes from very fundamental calculations on atomic systems, via basic research on clusters, fullerenes and negative ions to more applied studies on carbon nanotubes and optical tweezers. Read more about the research in atomic physics

Experimental atomic physics

The group investigates the fundamental properties of negative ions and develop mass spectroscopic techniques. Read more about the research in experimental atomic physics
